How to fold your zine:
- Print the single page (single-sided, landscape).
- Fold in half lengthwise (top edge to bottom edge).
- Unfold, then fold in half widthwise (right edge to left).
- Fold in half widthwise again.
- Unfold completely — you'll see 8 panels.
- Cut along the red line (centre horizontal, middle two columns only).
- Fold lengthwise again, push ends together to form the booklet.
About this tool
A single sheet of paper is enough for a complete zine. This tool places your images in the right order and orientation for two folds: the classic 8-page mini-zine, with three folds and one central cut, and the accordion, a zig-zag fold-out with no cutting. It works well for classroom workshops, illustration zines, flash fiction, creative cover letters or a keepsake from a trip.
Choose the fold type; for the accordion, pick the number of panels (4, 6 or 8), whether it is double-sided and whether to split the sheet into two copies. Select a paper size and a reference DPI: the “Each page” strip tells you exactly how many pixels each artwork should be. Drop your images in, drag to reorder, switch between Fit and Fill, then download the PDF.
Images are placed and the PDF is built in your browser; nothing is uploaded to a server. Use JPG or PNG images, one per page. The sheet is always laid out in landscape, and the preview shows the fold lines and, in red, where to cut. If you need multi-sheet stapled booklets, use the PDF imposer instead.
Frequently asked questions
How do you fold an 8-page mini-zine?
Fold the sheet in half lengthwise and twice widthwise, cut the central slit, then push the ends together to form the booklet. Step-by-step instructions appear under the download button.
Why are some pages upside down on the sheet?
On a mini-zine the top row is deliberately rotated 180° so those pages end up the right way round once folded. The tool handles the rotation for you.
What size should my images be?
It depends on the paper and fold. Pick a reference DPI (300 for print) and the “Each page” strip gives you the exact size in millimetres and pixels.
How do I print a double-sided accordion zine?
Print both PDF pages double-sided, flipping on the short edge. That keeps the back of each panel aligned so the zine reads continuously front then back.
