About this tool
This tool runs a preflight check on a PDF before you send it to a printer. It catches the problems that most often hold up a job: missing bleed, unembedded fonts, RGB colour, low-resolution images, transparency in old PDF versions and pages of different sizes. It is handy for designers handing over final artwork, for anyone ordering leaflets or posters, and for print shops that want a quick first look at incoming files.

Within seconds you get an overall verdict (“Ready for print” or “Issues found”), a count of errors and warnings, a summary with PDF version, pages, file size and fonts, and the issues grouped by category and by page. The page preview draws the trim, bleed and crop boxes, and you can download any embedded font.
The whole analysis runs in your browser using pdf-lib and pdf.js, so the file is never uploaded to a server. Image resolution is an estimate that assumes each image fills the page, so it flags clear problems rather than measuring every photo. The tool does not fix anything or convert to CMYK; it tells you what to check in your layout software before exporting again.
Frequently asked questions
How much bleed does a print PDF need?
3 mm on each side is the usual requirement. The tool warns you if the PDF has no BleedBox or if the bleed margin is smaller than 3 mm.
Why do unembedded fonts cause problems?
If a font is not inside the PDF, the printer’s system substitutes another one and your text can reflow or go missing. Every unembedded font is flagged as an error.
Can I send an RGB PDF to a printer?
Many printers accept RGB and convert it, but colours can shift on the way to CMYK. That is why the tool flags it as a warning, so you can decide whether to convert first.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is read and analysed inside your browser, so you can check confidential documents without them leaving your computer.
