About this tool
This scratchpad is a quick place to paste some text and whip it into shape without opening a word processor. Use it to tidy a list of emails exported from a CRM, sort keywords, turn a heading into lowercase, join lines copied from a PDF or pull every URL out of a block of text. It all happens on one screen, with word, character and line counts always in view.
Type or paste your text into the main area and open the panel you need: Case (UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case), Lines (sort A–Z or Z–A, by length, reverse, shuffle, remove duplicates, add line numbers), Clean up (trim, remove empty lines or extra spaces, join lines, wrap at 80 or 120 characters, encode URLs), Find & replace, with optional regular expressions, and Extract. Every change can be undone with Ctrl+Z.
Your text is processed and stored only in your browser’s local storage, so it survives a reload; it is never sent to a server. You can copy it or download it as a .txt file, and the bin button also wipes it from storage. It is a plain-text editor: it applies no formatting, does not check spelling and may slow down with texts several megabytes long.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text kept if I close the tab?
Yes, in the same browser: it is saved automatically to local storage a second after you stop typing. It is not synced to other devices or uploaded anywhere.
Can I undo a transformation?
Yes. The tools change the text as if you had typed it, so Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on a Mac) undoes the last change.
How do I find and replace with a regular expression?
Open “Find & replace”, tick “Use regex” and type your pattern. You will see the number of matches before you press “Replace” or “Replace all”, and you can use $1, $2… to reuse capture groups.
How do I extract all email addresses from some text?
In the “Extract” panel, click “Extract emails”. You get a de-duplicated list you can copy in one go with “Copy all”; the same works for URLs and numbers.
