About this tool
Here you will find the dimensions of more than a hundred paper formats grouped by standard: ISO A, B and C series, RA and SRA raw formats, US office sizes (Letter, Legal, Tabloid), ANSI, architectural drawing sizes, Japanese JIS, Chinese, Swedish, traditional French and British Imperial. It helps when you set up a print file, choose an envelope or need to know what paper an overseas client is asking for.
Switch between millimetres and inches with the “Unit” toggle. Click two sizes in the list to compare them “Side by side” or as an “Overlay”. In the search box you can type a name (A5), dimensions (210x297mm, 8.5x11in) or pixels with a resolution (1920x1080@300dpi) to see the five closest formats. “Upload” detects the size of an image or of the first page of a PDF.
Images and PDFs are read in your browser and never uploaded to a server. Dimensions are the nominal values of each standard; real paper can vary by a millimetre depending on the mill. If you type dimensions without a unit and both are under 50, they are read as inches. The tool does not resize or convert files; it only tells you which format fits.
Frequently asked questions
What size is A4?
A4 is 210 × 297 mm, or roughly 8.27 × 11.69 inches. It is the standard sheet size in the UK and most of the world outside North America.
What is the difference between A4 and US Letter?
US Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches (216 × 279 mm), about 6 mm wider and 18 mm shorter than A4. Printing a document set up for one on the other can clip the margins.
How many pixels is A4 at 300 dpi?
At 300 dpi an A4 page is about 2480 × 3508 pixels. You can check other resolutions by typing your pixel size and dpi into the search box.
What are SRA paper sizes for?
SRA sheets are slightly larger than the A series so you can print with bleed and trim afterwards. For example, an SRA3 sheet (320 × 450 mm) gives you a full-bleed A3.
