About this tool
The glyph browser brings together thousands of Unicode characters in thirteen categories: basic and extended Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, punctuation, currency, arrows, maths operators, box drawing, geometric shapes, miscellaneous symbols, dingbats and emoji. It is handy for finding that arrow, currency sign or em dash your keyboard lacks, or for getting its code point to use on a web page.
Pick a category from the drop-down, or search by the character itself or its hexadecimal code (for example 2192 or U+2192). Click a glyph to see its U+ code and decimal value, then copy it in one of four formats: the plain character, an HTML entity, a CSS escape or a JavaScript escape. If you only need the character, double-click it and it is copied straight away.
Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. Glyphs are drawn with the fonts installed on your device, so some may appear as empty boxes if none of them covers that character. Each view shows up to 400 characters; use the search to narrow things down. It does not search by character name (such as “heart”): search works on the character or its code.

What is a character's U+ code?
It is the character's number in the Unicode standard, written in hexadecimal. For example, U+20AC is the euro sign (€).
How do I use a Unicode symbol in HTML?
Use a numeric entity such as → for →. Each glyph's HTML button copies it ready-made.
Why do some symbols show up as a square?
None of the fonts on your device includes that glyph. The character still copies correctly, but how it looks depends on the font where you paste it.
