About this tool
PNG is great for screenshots and graphics, but photos saved as PNG are heavy. Converting them to JPG cuts the file size several times over and gives you a file that every upload form, job portal, online shop and email client accepts. It is the go-to conversion when a site insists on “JPG only” or when you need to send large screenshots without clogging someone’s inbox.
Drop your PNG files onto the upload area (or paste with Ctrl+V); JPEG is already selected as the output. Set the quality with the slider: 90 looks virtually identical, while 75 saves a good deal more. If the PNG has transparent areas, pick the colour that will fill them under “Background colour”. Press “Convert to JPEG” and download each image or all of them as a ZIP.
The conversion happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded. JPG cannot store transparency, so it is always filled with your chosen colour (white by default). It is a lossy format, so it is not ideal for logos with fine text or for images you will keep re-editing. If you also need a different size, use the “Resize” options before converting.
