About this tool
You save an image from a website and it turns out to be WEBP: a government form rejects it, your photo software does not recognise it, or a client says they cannot open it. JPG is the universal photo format that every phone, social network, platform and program accepts, so converting to JPG is the quickest way to make those problems go away.
Drop the WEBP files onto the upload area or paste them with Ctrl+V; JPEG is already selected. Set the quality with the slider (90 keeps almost all the detail). If the WEBP has transparency, choose the colour that will replace it under “Background colour”. Press “Convert to JPEG” and download each photo or all of them together as a ZIP.
The whole process happens in your browser: nothing is uploaded. JPG stores neither transparency nor animation, so transparent backgrounds are filled with your colour and an animated WEBP keeps only its first frame. JPG is lossy too, so if the WEBP was already heavily compressed, raise the quality to avoid adding more artefacts.
