Each image is saved in its own format (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF or BMP). Formats the browser cannot write, such as SVG or AVIF, are saved as PNG.

About this tool
Resizing is one of the most common image jobs: fitting a photo to Instagram’s 1080 px, getting a header to the exact width your website needs, shrinking a screenshot for an email or preparing a picture for a form with size limits. Here you can do it in seconds, without opening an editor or changing the file format.
Drop the image onto the upload area. Under “Resize”, scaling to 50% is already switched on; pick another percentage (25, 75, 150 or 200%) or type your own. For exact dimensions, switch to “Dimensions”, enter the width or the height and, with the padlock closed, the other value is calculated for you so the image is not distorted. Press “Resize images” and download the result.
The image is processed in your browser and never uploaded. With “Same format”, each image is saved in its original format (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF or BMP); formats the browser cannot write, such as SVG or AVIF, are saved as PNG. Enlarging a small image does not add detail, it only makes it bigger. EXIF data is not kept.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize without distorting the image?
In “Dimensions” mode keep the padlock closed and enter only the width or only the height: the other value is calculated automatically to keep the aspect ratio.
Do I lose quality when shrinking an image?
Shrinking discards pixels, but the image still looks sharp to the eye. If you save as JPG or WEBP, the compression quality matters too, and you can adjust it in the options.
Can I enlarge an image without it looking pixelated?
You can scale it to 150 or 200%, but no new detail is created, so it will look a little softer. Large enlargements need AI upscaling tools.
What format will the resized image be?
By default, the same as the original. If you prefer, choose another format under “Convert to” and resize and convert in one go.
