About this tool
You have taken a screenshot with Print Screen or the Snipping Tool, or copied an image from a document or chat, and now you need it as a file to attach or upload. Rather than opening an editor, pasting into a new canvas and exporting, here you just paste it and download it as a PNG, with the option to crop it first.
Open this page and press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac): the image appears instantly. If you only need part of it, press “Crop”, drag the corners or edges of the frame (the size in pixels is shown) and confirm with “Apply crop”. “Reset” goes back to the pasted image and “Clear” discards it. When you are happy, press “Download PNG” and the file is saved with the date in its name.
The image never leaves your browser: it is not uploaded or stored on any server. It works with any image your system copies to the clipboard as image data; copied text or links will not work. It is designed for desktop use, as phones rarely offer a paste shortcut outside a text field. The output is always a lossless PNG.

How do I save a screenshot as a file?

Why does nothing happen when I paste?
Your clipboard probably holds text or a link rather than an image. Copy the image again with right-click → “Copy image”, or retake the screenshot.
Can I crop the image before saving it?
Yes. Press “Crop”, adjust the frame by dragging its corners and edges, and press “Apply crop”. If you make a mistake, “Reset” restores the original image.
Is my screenshot stored on a server?
No. The image only exists in your browser’s memory and disappears when you close the page or press “Clear”.
